Family Lock Reset On 360

To remove an Xbox 360 Parental Lock you go to the System Info Screen under Console settings, Then on your controller you do the LT, RT, X, Y, LB, RB, Dpad R, X, Y, and R again. The screen should pop up to ask if you'd like to reset the machine... say YES!

THERE.. Now you can fix your machine and be all happied out! So go on and get em!

Please don't panic. Hold on to your seats everybody.... We are moving the store to a larger space that has opened up 4 doors down 1st street to the west. That's closer to Lake Ave, still on 1st street... our new address will be 18 West 1st Street.

Okay, so this new space has more floor space so we can have three, count em, three isles of gamer bliss AND the posibility of instore old school and even guitar hero or Pokemon snap contests. The possibilities are endless!

FBI seizes counterfeit Nintendo software
The U.S. FBI has arrested four Chinese in New York for allegedly distributing video game consoles that contain Nintendo game software. Approximately 40 FBI agents seized more than 60,000 illegal products during five raids last Wednesday. The illegal products, marketed under the brand name "Power Player," contain dozens of pirated versions of popular Nintendo games like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt.
Authorities say that between September and December 2004, the Chinese imported 27 cargo containers holding more than 280,000 counterfeit video game systems. After several meetings, they revealed to the undercover FBI agents the locations of their warehouses and provided information about their distribution network. On Wednesday, the undercover agents, posing as toy distributors, arrested the four defendants and confiscated illegal products, computers and business records. The FBI conducted accompanying searches in Queens, Brooklyn and Maple Shade, New Jersey, near Philadelphia.
"Nintendo applauds the actions taken by the FBI. U.S. law enforcement authorities have played an instrumental role in attacking piracy in the U.S. and abroad," said Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo of America's director of anti-piracy. "Nintendo will continue to work with local, state, national and international authorities to combat the growing problem of product piracy around the world."
The New York raids are just the latest in a long line of criminal actions that Nintendo is currently supporting. Nintendo says that for more than a decade, Nintendo of America Inc.'s anti-piracy team has led the charge against video game piracy around the world. During the first quarter of 2005, the team reports that more than 80 seizures of counterfeit Nintendo products were conducted, resulting in the confiscation of close to 180,000 products globally. In another FBI action earlier this month, a defendant in a Minnesota case pleaded guilty to copyright infringement and faces up to five years in prison and a US$250,000 fine.
Highlights of Nintendo's anti-piracy efforts in 2004 included:
• Nintendo estimated that piracy cost the company more than $860 million in lost sales in 2004 alone.
• Around the world, authorities seized 1,556,487 counterfeit Nintendo products in 536 seizure actions in some 30 countries.
• Nintendo terminated about 194,730 copies of games uploaded to the Internet and 75,452 auctions of counterfeit products.
• In October, Nintendo won a preliminary injunction against kiosk owners selling hardware units with built-in multiple counterfeit NES games in Washington state. The court order was critical to persuade mall management companies across the United States to shut down kiosks in the malls they managed. Many of the operators were in the United States illegally and have since been deported to their respective homelands.
• In mainland China, five people received prison sentences and fines for manufacturing millions of counterfeit Game Boy game cartridges. The breakthrough case marked the first time a counterfeiter of Nintendo products received a prison sentence in China.
• In Taiwan, the owner-president and several employees of Yudian Corp. were convicted on all counts of criminal copyright and trademark offences. Taiwan's High Court sentenced the president's assistant to four years in prison.

And then we hear the laugh and sputter at the price tag. We try to calmly explain why a game like Panzer Dragoon Saga is expensive. Supply does not meet demand, collectibility goes up, prices go up. Generally, they scoff and leave, but a few times, they know, and they drop the money and buy the game.

We really do try to keep pricing as fair as possible.

Anyway, the folks over at Gamefaqs.com have compiled a Top Ten Best Ebay-Inflated Games list. We've had a lot of these games in the store, and just for the record, they usually are NOT as much as this list has them for.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles Review

Anybody who has ever met me or has a vague idea as to who I am or what I like knows that, since 1996, I have been completely and incomprehensibly obsessed with a small, little-known series known as Resident Evil.

The first time I ever played the original game, I was only 11 years old. My brother had the game on PC, and, not being a gamer, I never wanted to play it. Well, one night, while he was gone, I snuck into his room, threw on the headphones, and played... for about ten minutes, until I was too blind with terror that I could barely see the power button as I frantically mashed my hands around trying to turn off the bloody thing.

Several weeks later, I tried again. This time, I was brave enough to actually play it through until completion. So began my unending devotion to games, and to zombies, and to Resident Evil.

Since then, I have played every single version of the game, including all the sequels, spin-offs, remakes, ports, and even the cellphone games with a certain aura of unabashed nostalgia. Some have been quite good (RE2, RE3, Dead Aim), some have been mediocre (RE: Zero, Survivor, Code Veronica), some have been pretty sucky, but too delicious for me to dislike (Outbreak, the various cellphone games), and some have been downright terrible (the horrible Gameboy color one). However, a few have stood out as being amazing; Resident Evil 4, The REmake, the original, and now... Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles.

Umbrella Chronicles is something of a mix between a synopsis of the series thus far, and a love letter to the fans. For those of you that don't know, it's a combination of the events from Resident Evil Zero, the Resident Evil Remake, RE3, and some new content, all presented in a House of the Dead style rail-shooting extravaganza. The new content consists of an entirely new scenario taking place at the Umbrella Stronghold in Russia, and some new episodes that take place during the other games and are meant to give insight on what everyone else was doing.

The story nicely ties those games together, however, I do have a gripe with how it is done. Once again, Capcom has proven that their idea of the best way to "answer questions" is by presenting us with huge convoluted subplots shoved into the stories that were apparently going on "behind the scenes" during the original games. It's blatantly obvious that this is NOT how they always intended the downfall of Umbrella to happen. Still, it's fairly acceptable, as it lends for some cool gameplay, and it's also sweet to see what Wesker, Ada, and the members of Bravo team were doing, even if some of it is completely silly. One thing I should mention... if you're obsessive about the RE storyline, I'm pretty sure that the summary levels aren't meant to be canon, but all the new content is.

The gameplay is quite simple. Point and shoot. Press this button with that button to throw a grenade, hold down this button and shake the wii-mote to knife things, SHAKE IT SHAKE IT POINT SHOOT SHOOT POINT SHAKE PRESS A AND B SIMULTANEOUSLY SHAKE IT REPEAT.

It's a lot of fun, although it can take getting used to. By the way, I don't recommend the Nintendo Zapper. It sucks. Get this instead.

The graphics are, in my opinion, up to par with Resident Evil 4 in most places. Presented in 16:9 with 480p support, it's amazing to see the familiar (and not-so) locations come to life in full-3D. Most of these places have only been seen in pre-rendered 2D background format before. The mansion levels are especially pretty. However, once the game gets to the RE3 levels (and everything beyond, including the Umbrella Stronghold... more on that later), they start to recycle locations and character models from old PS2 and Gamecube games. Everything in the RE3 section is directly recycled from the Resident Evil Outbreak series. So much, in fact, that every event from RE3 takes place in a location from Outbreak. This wouldn't be too terrible, except that absolutely NONE of the locations from RE3 are used. There's no restaurant, no park, no dead factory, no clock tower, no hospital (which is especially frustrating because the hospital WAS in Outbreak), and on and on. Instead we get the street locations from Outbreak, a subway, and the police station (which was in RE3 for like, a moment at the beginning of the game). Still, what they did do was nice. The Nemesis fight is somewhere in between the awesomeness of RE3 and the horribleness of the movie as far as intensity.

This brings me to the Umbrella Stronghold levels. Say hello to my little friend, his name is Paul W. S. Anderson. Love him or hate him, he's here to stay, and so, apparently are his ideas. (btw for the record, I absolutely love the movies). We have the Red Queen, the Hive, the nifty 3D spinning maps, the laser hall, and the explodey fastness of the movies. Even the music has been remixed to sound similar. Personally, I love that they're bringing some continuity, but I know some fans will hate it. I would like to express my distaste, however, at recycling levels from the horrible P.N.O. 3. At least they're things no one has seen before (Oh Snap.)

Anyway, overall, the game takes a surprisingly long time to beat (for a light gun game), and is a lot of fun in the process. You'll relive major events from the series, or you'll catch up on the story if you're a newcomer. The gameplay is crazy fun, the graphics are mostly great, and there are very few downsides to this game. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

Parental Lock Code Removal

Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.

When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".

The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".

Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.

Sometimes I cringe when I sell an original NES because I can tell the ppl have no idea what they are dealing with. I know they will be returning it within a week.
So what's the problem? As far as I can tell these people don't realize how to clean the carts or connectors. A real can full of contact cleaner, found at any electronics store, is the best. Some ppl use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip... cotton fibers can get under the cart teeth so I recommend looking into those sponge tip makup applicators.
NES is like having a pet... if you know just how to feed them (guiding in the cart) they love you and work for you. Each one is different. I've heard many people say "My NES works for ONLY me" *grin* That right there is half the joy of owning one of these little beasties!

We are also getting handmade, one of a kind jewelry that is sterling and stones that represent our favorite game themes! How COOL is that... I can't wait to see them... how bout you?

What's been happening...

As many of you know the floor space in the store is limited so we keep thinking up new creative ways to pack more stuff in while keeping the same user friendly look. So I added chain link to the front windows to be able to hang the plushes and other hangy thingys. We are also hard at work laminating new hang tags. These tags represent the game carts that will now be stored off the floor. Yes, one benefit of this is less temptation that causes some souls to cross over to the dark side, it also consolidates space and saves having to purchase the reams of price tag and packaging materials we go through each month.... we hope to pass on the savings to you :) So don't be confused, the games are still here. The feedback is that ppl like the new tags as they're faster and easier to thumb through vs slogging through hordes of carts.
